Earl Scruggs was a innovative instrumentalist who helped to define American music in the 20th century, and as a result influenced every banjo player who came afterwards. Like Maybelle Carter, he developed an unusual playing technique, which later become absorbed into the standard language of musicians. As a tribute to the recently-passed banjo genius Earl Scruggs, here is a feature-length documentary about him from the early 1970s.
