I’m reading this amazing book about the complex relationship between music and the human brain. Without exaggeration, I can say it’s completely changing the way I conceive music and my relationship to it. The book is called “Musicophilia”, by Dr. Oliver Sacks, one of the world’s most well-known neurologists. I’ll post my complete thoughts on the book once I’ve finished reading it, but for now I wanted to post this video where Dr. Sacks tells the first story in the book. It’s a remarkable tale of a surgeon who was struck by lightning (which is odd enough)…but then something really strange happened.
