Rock Moustaches: “The Harrison”

One of George Harrison’s personal beliefs was that the material world is impermanent. In interviews and in his music, he consistently expressed his view that “all things must pass”, to use a phrase from his most popular solo album. George’s facial hair reflects this: he was an early convert to the hairy rocker look, but he subsequently experimented with his moustache a great deal, with spectacularly cool results. Like my other Rock Moustache honorees, George Harrison wore his facial hair with style and manly pride, but the ultimate lesson of his moustache is that we should never be afraid to change or acknowledge the passage of time.
