I spent most of the day assembling CDs, and then something interesting happened…
Today I got my chat with the head of the internship program, to discuss my past experience and goals. After my high score on the licensing listening test, combined with my communications background, he decides to put me on a special project: calling every production company in Canada to pitch the company’s music library. I am very excited for this, as I love talking to people and am eager to learn more about licensing. It also dovetails nicely with my last position as a fund-raiser, as it requires many of the same skills (i.e. determination and persuasiveness). After years of professional fundraising, I don’t foresee any challenge with this assignment, and it’ll be fun!
